From his performance that night I think he must be an outstanding and competent xiao sheng during his prime years, handsome and with many many fans. One opera fan said he is 82 but some believe he is older. Anyone knows?

Oh wow!Yes, he was a very good performer. Used to watch his shows in the Chinese Assembly Hall, KL in the 70's!
I watched him when I was a teenager in the 60s. He was performing in the then Happy World (later renamed as Gay World). A very popular “sheng” at that time, though I may not even know what a “sheng” is at that age.
BTW, his last name WAN, in Chinese is 寰 and not 環.
